Frequently asked questions
Can I do graduate research in the lab?
Start by applying to the graduate school of the university you want to attend, and contact the lab faculty there. You don't need prior knowledge of robotics, but you should understand the research process and be eager to learn.
Can undergraduates work on lab projects?
Yes. The labs typically host three to eight undergraduates at a time, depending on location. Some have presented at conferences or co-authored publications. Work may be for course credit and is sometimes paid. Email a faculty member to ask about openings.
Can I see and interact with the robots?
Yes, by arrangement. Visits depend on active research schedules, so please email us first.
Will you do an interview for a media organization?
Usually, yes, or we will refer you to someone who can. Availability depends on research activity and travel.
Can we partner with COMBOTLABS?
Please reach out to start a conversation. You can see our current partner labs on the Lab Partners page. Lab Partners
